I NEED STEP BY STEP
Mark the steps as checked when you complete them.
Open the LASTemplate-07 workbook and click the Enable Editing button. The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if directed to do so by your instructor, and save it.
Click the Lists sheet tab and select cell A1. Use Smart Lookup to determine the county in which Bemidji is located. Type the county name in cell C1. Repeat these steps for the remaining cities in cells A2:A7. For a city that does not display quickly in the Smart Lookup pane, enter the city name with the state (Minnesota) in an empty cell and try again using that cell. Delete the cell contents after you determine the county names.
3 Select the Adoptions sheet tab and select cells C5:C29. Set list data validation for the "Species" column; the animal types are located on the Lists worksheet. Do not use an input or an error message.
Select cells F5:F29. Set list data validation for the "City" column to use city names on the Lists worksheet without input or error messages.
Select cell G5 and press Delete. Build a VLOOKUP formula in cell G5 to lookup the city name in cell F5 in the array on the Lists worksheet and display the ZIP code. Use the sample data to verify that your formula is correct and then copy the formula (Figure 7-76). #NA appears in rows with no data.
6 Build another VLOOKUP formula in column H to display the county name for the city.
Format the cells in column A to show the Short Date format. Verify that the data in row 29 has a solid bottom border.
Build a custom number format for the "Animal ID" column to display the ID with five digits. This format displays leading zeros when necessary.
Draw an Option Button (Form Control) to cover most of cell F2. Press control+Alt, point at the
Figure 7-76 VLOOKUP to display ZIP code control's border to display the copy pointer, and drag a copy of the control between cells G2 and H2.
Press command to select both controls. While both controls are selected, right-click either one and select Format Object and turn off the Locked property. Click a worksheet cell to deselect the controls. Right-click to edit the text in the first control to display Downtown. Edit the text in the second control to display Suburban (Figure 7-77).
Select both controls and align them at the middle (Shape Format tab). Click a worksheet cell. If you have selected one of the option buttons, right-click the control and format the button to be Unchecked.
Delete cells A5:F5, the test data. Data validation is not deleted when you delete cell contents, and the VLOOKUP formulas remain.
12
Enter the following data to test the form:
\table[[Adoption Date,Animal ID,Species,Client,Street Address,City,Zip],[25?20,10,Dog,John Doe,4567 Western Trail,Cass,]]
Select the Suburban option button.
Remove the Locked property from cells A5:H29 on the Adoptions sheet.
Select cell A5 and protect the Adoptions sheet without a password.
Save the and close the workbook and hide the Developer tab (Figure 7-78).
Upload and save your project file.
Submit project for grading.
