After completing, address the following: Among correctional scholars, there has been a long debate regarding the prevention of crime. Many scholars argue that Prevention is the "one true ideology" of corrections. Essentially, this means that everything we do in corrections is aimed at preventing crime. Under this notion, the purpose of the prison (both in its early formation and today) would be to prevent crime. Using examples from the video, explain why you believe Prevention is/is not the "one true ideology" of corrections.
