It is important to know the difference between Manager and Leader but more importantly to understand what each has to offer. A Manager is someone who goes by the book and focuses on the details at hand to complete the task and make sure that others within the organization do the same. A leader is someone who inspires, challenges, takes risks and look at the long term. Finding the balance, if you can, between both can create a harmonious group. I have had personal experiences throughout my life in dealing with manager and leaders. While I do not have boss and report directly to the owner I have to take on the role of both. I have to have a managerial behavior when I am in front of him all while leading the people I work with but still getting things done. Most recently ! had an order that I needed to get out but had a problem following the process that I was told to follow. Thankfully I was able to lead my team in a way to complete the process all while maintaining the process was required to follow
