I used to work for a consulting company assisting firms to submit documents about applying for patents and trade-marks' registration 3 years ago. There was a client focusing on design for other companies' innovative products . As most of designing works before are for other companies , the client did not think of trade-marks for themselves. While, with the growth of company's business, the client started working with some factories to produce his own products like limited edition pens, T-shirts, badges and mouse pads designed by himself and each of them was with his signature, he was intended to consider created his own brands and protect his creative works which were the most valuable issues for his company to earn money. The client turned to us for this issue and we suggested him that he must to register several trade-marks for his various creative works, and he agreed. He authorized us to contact local trade-mark office, collect and submit necessary documents for his primary 20 works. After long time wait for the results , although there are 5 marks rejected because of their similarity in patterns, most of the works got their registration licenses.

I also had a case to prepare files for a company applying for patents. Before contacting related office, As I learned that there were two kinds of patents, invention, and practical and new patents, and some restrictions to being patented, I read the documents about the product clearly before collecting related documents and making sure it could be patented. After auditing twice and product's disclosing, local office delivered the practical and new patent license to our client, a creative modification for electric cooker making it to cook rice more efficiently and save more energy.
