POST1. After taking this course on Advertising and Promotions, I find the concepts we learned to be extremely useful. They provide a foundation for understanding the various aspects of advertising and promotional strategies. Some of these concepts I would like to highlight below are:

By understanding the stages of consumer decision-making, I am able to comprehend the process that consumers go through before purchasing a product or service. This understanding is essential for developing effective advertising messages and strategies that can influence consumer behavior.
2. Methods for setting advertising budgets:
Learning about the different methods for setting advertising budgets has helped me understand the financial aspects of advertising and promotions. This knowledge is critical for developing advertising campaigns that are cost-effective and provide a positive return on investment.
3. Criteria used to target a segment:
Understanding the criteria used to target a segment has given me insight into the different factors that companies consider when deciding which groups of consumers to target with their advertising messages.

POST2. Advertising and promotion is the most interesting class I have studied in this program so far. It's really inspiring to learn how marketing and promotion play a huge role in a successful business plan.
One of the most amazing concepts I learned in the class is the four primary stages of consumer decision making. Theseare need recognition, information search and alternative evaluation, purchase, and post-purchase use and evaluation. Need recognition is the first and most crucial step in the buying process that occurs when a customer becomes aware of the need for a product. Once the need is determined, the customer starts to see what the options are and compare them to make the best purchase decision as part of the information search and alternative evaluation stage. The next stage is when the sale is made as the customer decides what to buy. In the post-purchase evaluation stage, the consumer evaluates whether the product is worth buying and should be repurchased. However, some stages of consumer decision making can be terminated for some customers. By learning about this concept, I am able to anticipate the needs of my customers, which helps me formulate marketing strategies.
As part of the class, I have also learned about creativity in advertising, which is also interesting. There is no doubt that creativity is the foundation of business success across all industries. Creative advertising contributes to increasing sales of products and services as well as improving brand recognition. By realizing that customers tend to resonate with an ad related to their interests, a business can use a memorable message or story that people engage with emotionally. This is how effective advertising is developed, thereby increasing the business' profit and brand awareness.
