For this week we are supposed to talk about the challenges that air transportation carriers and shippers face and follow it up with they can mitigate these challenges. This question affects a lot of us when it comes to getting products delivered to our houses when we order things online as well as when people travel for vacations. I can remember just a few months ago there were thousands of flights that were canceled due to weather which is a huge challenge that airline companies have to navigate (ha, no pun intended). They have to ensure the safety of their passengers and cargo at all times so there might be times when they have to delay or even cancel flights. This can easily roll right into another challenge which is training and having enough qualified pilots on their staff. This has been an issue for a very long time for both the civilian and military sectors. One of the concerns is not just having enough trained pilots but also how well are these pilots trained and if they are trained up to the standard. Also something that needs to be managed is whether the pilots are trained on the newest technology and planes that they will be flying. With that companies need to be making sure that they are keeping with all new rules and regulations that in place. How do they navigate these issues? The most important thing is training, but quality training and tracking the training of all their pilots and staff to ensure that they are as prepared as possible for all situations. On top of that its not just about initial training, it is also about continuous training and proficiency training.
