Final Exam: Onboarding Development

Objective: To develop an onboarding program for the organization you used to develop the HRD program for your final project

Organization used: Walmart

Instructions: Using the same organization that you focused on for your final project, develop an onboarding program. This program can be general to the organization, or can be for a specific area, and for brand new employees or those transferring/promoted who are new to an area of the organization.

The page guidelines are approximations for each section; various formats (charts, bullets, written, etc.).

Brief Explanation of the Focus on the Onboarding program (1/2 p)

Brief explanation, and identify the intended recipients of the program

Ch 8 Onboarding: Employee Socialization, Onboarding, orientation programs (2 p, will vary based on chosen format)

Use Ch 8 as a guide to identify the components of a socialization program that will be ideal for your onboarding program. Be sure to keep in mind the following items Below:

This section can be formatted in a chart or multiple charts, or in sections with bullets, as long as enough detail is provided to relay the appropriate information.

Proposal Closing (1/2 p)- Many times the end of a report just drops off once the required information is provided. It is always a good idea to finish with a closing.

Format: Information must indicate that you have a clear understanding of the concepts

Sections should show a logical thought process and address all required points
