Human autonomy is essential for human dignity and action. While a nuanced concept, as described in this course, human autonomy is the ability of individuals to form their own opinions and make their own choices without undue external influence or coercion. Put another way, human autonomy consists of two major components:

It refers to authenticity, or the ability of humans to form their own beliefs and values;

It includes the notion of agency, or the ability of humans to act on the basis of those beliefs and values.

The goal of this discussion is to identify possible benefits and challenges of AI systems as they affect human autonomy.

Draw upon your experiences to describe an example of how AI systems could influence our behaviors unconsciously. Then, in relation to this example, suggest one to two strategies to ensure AI respects human autonomy. You can discuss national, corporate, and$/$or individual strategies.
