Human services professionals require skills in reflective practice to critically engage in ethical and professional practice. Skills in identifying and critically considering underlying beliefs and perspectives, raises self awareness of factors that covertly and overtly impact on practice. Adopting a critical reflective practice lens is important in developing professional practice skills. Completing this assessment should: ?Assist you to develop critical reflection skills; ?Increase your understanding of mental health by increasing your self-awareness; ?Develop your capacity for reflective practice; ?Assist you to apply course content in your own practice. This assessment is set out as a series of questions that provides prompts for your reflection. The questions describe what is required from you and should be regarded as the criteria you are responding to. You are required to reflect on your pre-course understanding and views of mental health, and how have developed and how they may evolve with new learnings. Your own detailed personal experiences do not need to be discussed or divulged, however you may consider and reflect on how your personal experiences have impacted on your beliefs and opinions.
