I frequently use NY Times and CNN and am aware of Fox News but I never use it. I visit these sites, NY Times and CNN, a few times a week whenever I have to research something or see something on social media apps, and to learn a little bit more about it, I explore the topic for further research. NY Times and CNN have many topics and content on their site, which makes me often look at these media sources. They also talk a lot about politics and tell me more about what is happening in the country, especially since the presidential elections are next year.

Fox News is frequently criticized for its alleged bias and how it distributes news and information. These are a few explanations for why I won't visit this source. Consistently right-leaning or conservative opinions are linked to Fox News. Those with different political beliefs may find the channel off-putting since some individuals think it has a blatant political slant and that its reporting and commentary reflect that bias. Fox News is criticized for its propensity to sensationalize news stories and favor entertainment value over accurate reporting. This may lead viewers to believe that the network is more concerned with boosting ratings and supporting particular narratives than offering objective information. Fox News has come under fire for spreading false information or endorsing conspiracies at times. Others have questioned the network's legitimacy and dependability as a news source due to instances of erroneous reporting or misleading information. Fox News has been charged with fostering political divisiveness in the US because of its ideological viewpoints and contentious programming. Its coverage and commentary frequently support particular ideological views, which may turn off readers looking for a broader or more balanced spectrum of opinions.

Of the demographics of the NY Times, "almost two-thirds of people who get political news and commentary from The New York Times are under 50 — 34% fall into the 30-49 age group, and 29% are in the 18-29 bracket. As for other readers, 17% are aged 50-64, while the remaining 20% are over 65." (Pengue, 2021). My least favorite media outlet, Fox News demographic, shows that compared to American adults, Fox News viewers tend to be older and more likely to be white. According to a November survey, Americans 65 and over make up about four out of ten who say Fox News is their primary source (37%), compared to 21% of all respondents. (Williams, 2023).

In an article from the NYTimes, "5 Deaths at Sea Gripped the World. Hundreds of Others Got a Shrug." by Pérez-Peña when looking at the comments section is moderated for civility. The comments make it sound professional and an actual discussion of this article. Also, to post a comment, you must be registered with an NYTimes account. The Times' software automatically approves some words, and moderators can easily remove any posts that were made in error. But, the software is not permitted to dismiss a comment entirely. The senior editor in charge of the Community desk, Marcia Loughran, said that each disregarded comment was "hand rejected" by a live moderator. (The Comments Section, 2016)

It is realistic to anticipate that social media will play a significant role in future elections, but it will undoubtedly be used differently than in 2016. Political campaigns constantly adapt their strategies. Social media will be used differently in political campaigns than in 2016 due to the platform's continuous expansion, changing user demographics, better-targeting capabilities, new platforms and features, increasing scrutiny, and the emergence of online communities and influencers. In a more digital and networked world, campaigns must modify strategies to take advantage of these changes and engage with voters. It would be speculation at this stage to speculate on the particular tactics used by candidates, including former President Trump and his Democratic rivals. As the next election draws near, it would be prudent to follow dependable news sources and political analysis to stay current on the most recent happenings.
