I need a substantive comment on this post:

The planning tools and techniques discussed in the textbook are contingency planning, scenario planning, staff planning, goal setting, goal management, and goal alignment. With my background being in law enforcement, I found that my experience falls more on the contingency planning side of things. I say this because in reality, law enforcement officers do plan their day out to a point, but in reality things can go wrong very quickly and what you thought you might be doing can change just as quick. With that said, most of the planning comes from serving warrants and other special operations due to the strategy that is needed. If one plan does not work, you always need a backup plan in your other hand so that you can think quickly in a high stress situation (Wall Street Journal, 2010).
