1. Target Customers/Users
Who are the target customers for the company/brand? Make sure you tell why you selected each item that you did. (NOTE: DO NOT say ANY, ALL, EVERYONE you cannot target everyone, you must be specific)
Age Bracket: Age bracket for Nintendo ranges from age 20 years old to 40 years old. Age can vary even younger to older depending on the persons hobbies and likes. Nintendo has been around for many years, so people usually over 40 would not be in my age bracket.
Gender: The gender for Nintendo can be for both female and male.
Income Bracket: I would say middle class and upper class. Income ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 are ones who would be affording this for their kids or family. A person making 20,000 a year can afford a system and games costing from 5.00 to 50.00 games.
Education Level: There is a range here but mainly Nintendo reaches out to high school level kids and college kids who are working jobs after school. Some adults with different degrees but also with people who dont have a degree who also play with Nintendo systems but the focus would be high school kids and college kids up to 30 years old.
Lifestyle: There are kids who live in urbanized and city life that buy Nintendo. They are sold around the world but not to poverty who cannot afford it such as Africa or Afghanistan.
Psychographics (Interest, Hobbies, Past-times): We need to focus on the Generation X and Millennials. Generation X are both skeptical and highly educated. Millennials are known for their sophistication and tech savvy.
Values (What the customer values overall in life): Customer values the quality and product services of the system that everything works and will not keep breaking down. If something goes wrong, they want to know that their needs will be helped as fast as possible and know that they are important. Also, the customer is going to value the time of the family getting together and spending it with each other.
Other items you would segment up on :
How does the company currently reach its customers/users? Look at the methods and media the company is currently using to reach the customers/users. What methods and media should the company use to currently reach the customers/users identified above? Why have you decided up on this suggestion?
The company should consider more social media and optimizing the social media more. More people are paying attention to their phone with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you reach out more on social media, you might reach the people who dont watch tv, so they dont see the commercials or now with COVID-19 who dont want to go into the stores and see the advertisements that are displayed in the store. That way the people who are staying at home more will be more opted to buying the product online and having it shipped to their home and not have to worry about going out to grab this product.
What would grab the customers/users attention? Why do you think this will capture their attention?
I think that having an advertisement like 20 secs long on Facebook or any social media showing the games and who are playing the games would work great. If you do this repeatedly it will train the customer and make them want to try the system or games and make them have a want for it. Also, social media is used globally and would reach the age range 2040-year olds who are mainly the prime people who use social media. Its s like running a subliminal message when you see an advertisement repeatedly.
What do these target customers value from the business and its products? Why do you think they value these items?
I think the target customers value from the business and products by being able to play with family and friends. They enjoy playing these games because it brings the family and friends together where they can enjoy time together in their busy lives and creates laughter. Family is a huge value for customers and me personally having a Nintendo myself brings my family who is across the country brings us close because we can now play online together such as playing a game of Family Feud and enjoy ourselves. Customers see these games as a family get together and fun time activity. Like a family friend had always said to me growing up is that Time is the most precious gift. And that time with family is a very valuable thing.
2. Competitors
Who are the brands competitors? Provide at least 3 competitors and tell why you selected each competitor.
Competitor 1:[ Sony] PlayStation is a huge competitor to Nintendo. Sony offers a wider variety of videogames that people can select from all types of game genres. Nintendo has a less variety of gaming titles, but nearly all their videogames are well-received by all types of people.
Competitor 2: [ Microsoft] Nintendo is only focused on the gaming concept of console as to where Microsoft has plenty of money for marketing and developing new consoles with a diverse product review. There focus is not just on gaming but also on other products that make them more known as having great products which would lead customers to sticking with Microsoft and buying a Xbox instead of Nintendo.
Competitor 3: [Activision Blizzard] Activision Blizzard is a company that does not make console for customers to play on but makes games that people play. They are a company that makes games for Sony PlayStation but also makes games for the PC and mobile devices.
What product category does the brand fit into? Why have you placed this brand into the product category that you did?
Nintendo would fit in the gaming or electronics section in any store. Nintendo is an electronic game where it fits with all the electronics such as TVs, stereos, soundbars, other gaming devices, cell phones. When you walk into any store people know to walk straight to the electronic area to find Nintendo because its not a piece of clothing or furniture. Also Nintendo runs of electricity so it would make sense it would belong in the electronics which all devices need electricity to work.
What frame of reference (frame of mind) will customers use in making a choice to use/purchase this brand/service? What other brands/companies might customers compare this brand to (other than the top three identified above)?
