Not all tools are universally useful; some are more applicable in certain situations than others. In this module, you are looking at monitoring and control, so in this discussion youll be considering the tools.

To get started, share track-specific information: What are the monitoring tools and methods that are especially important in your track? Why are they important? Try to give some examples from the cases youve read or your experience. Do you think your selection is specific to your track? In what ways?

Then, as you read your classmates posts and think about the reading youve done, consider tools as they apply to other tracks. Are tools being used differently based on the track? Does it look like some tools are more relevant to particular tracks? What lessons can one learn from looking at the tools and methods in different settings?

Finally, consider what should be done when monitoring detects a variation or deviation from the plan. How would you approach this? Would your approach vary based on the context/track? In what ways?
