I think one way this could be improved is if my school had a family liaison. Nearly every other community learning center in the district has one, and we have been told we will be getting one for the past three years. If we had a family liaison, this person would be able to help the dean work through attendance data, reach out to families, direct them to any necessary supports, and (hopefully) improve the student's attendance. Another staffing improvement would be to fill the open position of clerical assistant in our building. This person would be able to help the secretary to verify attendance data prior to automated calls going out to families. It is frustrating that these positions have not been filled, but unfortunately that means collecting and working with this data is not as helpful as it could be. What is this persons opininon
