Instructions

• Create a precedence diagram/activity model to understand all activities, dependencies, and duration. Create the diagram on LucidCharts and save as a PDF.

  • Perform a forward pass and backwards pass

  • Calculate the float/slack

  • Identify the critical path

Spotify

Spotify is adding a new feature that helps musicians sell tickets to their shows. This feature requires the musician to upload their shows and tickets available for each show. Spotify will handle all the logics of marketing, collecting payment, and issuing tickets.

Google

Google is developing a new app called Backup & Sync (BS) that allows users to backup and sync their files from all their devices. This system provides files to be available to the users across all their devices. You drew out the business process a few months ago, now the project lead has written tasks that would need to be completed in order to build the platform. Your task is to create the project map (i.e., precedence diagram model)

Uber App

Uber would like to develop a new driver portal to help better manage their drivers. The task requires a several teams that need to coordinate together in order to deploy the app in a timely manner.

• Tasks:

  • The tasks of developing a new driver-side app requires creating UI wireframes, developing a smartphone app (i.e., develop driver portal of app), user acceptance testing (UAT), fixing bugs, and deploying the app onto a production server for all to use.

• Costs:

  • Graphic team to develop UI framework: $50/hr per designer; requires 1 designer

  • Web developers to create app and fix bugs: $100/hr per developer; requires 2 developers

  • Product managers to UAT: $85/hr per manager; requires 1 manager

  • Dev Ops engineers to deploy app onto production server: $100/hr per engineer; requires 1 engineer

• Timeline

  • The project will start on 06/01/2020. Skip the weekends and any holidays to calculate the end date of the project.
