If I were in Matt's situation, I would first try to understand his perspective and communicate effectively with him. I would listen to what he has to say and try to understand why he is so upset. I would also try to communicate my own perspective in a clear and concise manner. I would try to find a way to compromise and work together to solve the problem. I would suggest some potential solutions and see if we could come up with a plan that would work for both of us$.$ If we were unable to reach a compromise, I would then consider whether it was necessary to escalate the issue to a higher level.
