In a recent study on the behavior of loggerhead sea turtles, a sample of 80 turtles was studied. The 80 turtles were separated into two groups of 40 (those who nested at a northern beach in Costa Rica and those who nested further south). Both groups were given an RFID chip to track their movement. A year later, 29 of the turtles from the northern beach returned to the same beach and 27 of the turtles from the southern beach returned.
