In a two-stage production process, there are two tasks: First task A Is done, then task B. Task A requires 12 minutes/part and Task B requires 20 minutes/part. Currently there is one worker doing Task A and one worker doing Task B. The production manager is considering cross-training the first worker (one working on task A). When cross-trained, he will spend 3/4 of his time on task A and 1/4 in task B. The other worker will continue doing task B as before. How much will this change decrease the cycle time of the process?
