In chapter 2, you read about first mover and second mover advantage. To refresh your memory: First mover advantage is when a company is first to market with some new product, and as such, has a time period with little to no competition Second mover advantage is when a company follows the first mover, but can use the first mover's work in some way, and the market they created, in order to eventually catch up to and surpass the first mover As you may recall, second mover advantage can, in the long-term, be more powerful than the first mover advantage. Many major tech companies have historically not been the first mover. This includes especially powerful companies such as Google, Facebook, and Microsoft. Suppose that you are part of a small company that has come up with a tremendously useful technological product. You have first mover advantage. The president of the business has asked you to come up with a recommendation as to how they protect that advantage in some way. What would you recommend that the president does? Is there anything you can think of to help? Can it be helped? If not, why not? Is there something that you can try to do to keep ahead? Write a post with a few sentences on the topic and explain any recommendations you may have, as well as any reasoning behind them. You are not expected to write a novel, nor a term paper of any kind. This exercise is primarily to jog your thinking, as it is a very difficult problem. Be sure to mention any assumptions you may have, e.g. if you're assuming your product is software, or if it's a new type of mobile device, etc. Note that these assumptions aren't required, but you may want to include them so your reply makes more sense
