In$-$Class Community Engagement Program Planning and Assessment Simulation:

Each group will create a community project based on the $$new city$-$managed community

center in town.$$

The groups must include the rationale for the project $($perceived benefit to the

community$)$ and use the Kellogg logic model, including a formative and summative

assessment plan.

Each group member will present a portion of the project. Imagine that you are

presenting to the town sub$-$committee that managed the community center.

Some facets include:

$$ The rationale for the project

o Why does this benefit the community? Define the demographics of the

imaginary community

$$ Name ALL the stakeholders in the community interested in the project

$$ Describe how EACH stakeholder benefits or is oppressed by the project

$$ Use of the Kellogg logic model to outline the activities and goals of the program

o Create a timeline for implementation of the program, create the times and

days for the program, how will the community learn about it$?$ How do you

need to promote the program to have it available to the community?

$$ Creating a formative and summative assessment plan

o Create a timeline for when you will conduct the assessments

o What formative and summative assessments are most appropriate for

your program and why?

$$ Who is funding the project, and what will the project cost

o What funding sources exist to fund your program and why would they fund

it$?$ What$$s in it for them? What are their motivations to fund the project

$$ How the project is sustainable.

o How will the program continue when you no longer work there, or the

initial funding has run out.
