In most cases when people are given the task to tell something about themselves they tend to give their job description or occupation. This is because our employment is typically directly related to our lifestyle and self identity (Kail & Cavanaugh 2023). In all actuality, contemporary business theory suggest the notion that meaning matters in terms of having a successful business, a concept called meaning-mission fit (Kail & Cavanugh 2023).This concept is when there is a alignment with an organization's mission and employees in which they provide a more supportive environment for an employee's emotional well being (Kail & Cavanaugh 2023). However, I believe our employment and self identity can sometimes be unsuitable if the need for employment outweighs one's own values. Thus, a person may be driven to obtain a certain amount of capital regardless of whether they favor the occupation or not. It simply may be out of necessity for employment rather than searching for a job that fits your self identity. Nevertheless, as we began to age I believe job satisfication becomes less common since that "satisfication" was a big part of our early life and thus the "needs" might began to evolve. Thus, as people began to evolve so does the things we well but this notion varies from person to person. In my life so far, I make music on my spare time and that's something that really refuels me the most besides helping people. In terms of a mentor that influence my career options, my sister was a great mentor and suggested nursing as a possible career option, which I definitely took into consideration. Fortuntately, this later led me into choosing a career path in nurse anesthesia. In addition, in relation to job satisfaction choosing either music or nursing would be satisfying for me. Therefore, I believe it's better to pick a job that meets both your financial goals and personal identity.
