In this course, you will learn to plan instruction through an interdisciplinary and culturally responsive lens by connecting your planning to researched best practices. Your project is a 20- day interdisciplinary instructional unit plan that is content-focused and connects to reading and writing across the curriculum. Your unit plan will consist of twenty separate lesson plans that instruct the unit from beginning to end, with the first ten days' lesson plans being in full lesson plan format and the final ten days being in horizontal planning chart format (i.e., block-style plans). This project is divided into smaller pieces, or assignments, to be submitted across the term. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Read through the Interdisciplinary Instructional Planning Overview document provided with this assignment to become familiar with the full scope of the overall project. 2. Download the provided Interdisciplinary Instructional Planning Project: Proposal Template and use it to plan the overall unit topic and standards you will cover in your project. Each lesson plan you create for this project will require the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) to be identified. For English/Language Arts and Math content areas, Common Core State Standards must also be identified in addition to the Virginia Standards of Learning
