In this first week, we will prepare to apply written and oral communication principles to management roles. We will examine how to use persuasion to achieve commitment from a variety of stakeholders. In addition, we will examine the role of perception in communication, alignment of communication and audience, business justifications, presentation of data, and ethical aspects of organizational communications.

• How do you evaluate your own communication style? Could your style be improved, and if so, how? How does noise affect your style? What steps do you take to eliminate any adverse affects such noise has on your communication style? How does the communication style of others affect your ability to get the intended message?
