Individually, students will create a marketing plan using concepts from this course and others. The goal of the project is to assess if the students are able to take what they have learned and apply it to a specific area in the Entertainment industry.

Your group will be tasked with creating, developing, and marketing a new sports franchise. In doing so, you will need to address the following:

• The Basics: What sport, in what US city, and why?
  • You will need to make the case (using data) to prove that the sport you chose would be a success in the city you have chosen. In essence, you will need to support the fact that
• The Branding: What will the team name be, the color scheme, the overall aesthetics of the franchise. Also, how will the name tie into the meaning of the team? I.e., the Vegas Golden Knights is regal, resembles loyalty, etc.
• How will you Market the new team to the world?
  • Tie in the brand of the team in how you will market the team to the city and league
    1. Who are potential Fans? What kind of people will like them? *Be specific: age, demographics, lifestyle choices, etc.
    2. How will you tap into this demographic and through what mediums?
• Use concepts discussed in class to guide your analysis: entertainment management, marketing, co-promotion, social media, and more.

Compile your findings in a Marketing Plan format, however, this must be a much more creative document than other marketing plans you might have done. Needs to be 6-8 pages with visuals providing examples of the branding, marketing, and strategy. You will need data to support why your team will thrive in your chosen city, sports popularity in those cities (is there a big college market, high school, minor league teams, city size, etc.).

Make sure this is in narrative form with sections, formatting, and in text citations where they apply.
