You are to develop a Search Engine Optimization plan for a fictitious company, named Widgets, Inc. Widgets, Inc. manufactures and sells remote control model cars.
You should begin with a basic plan and add to it each week as new topics are discussed. With this project, you should have a complete SEO plan that you will present to Widgets, Inc.
At your first meeting, you had a chance to interview the CEO of Widgets, Inc. Below is a transcript of the questions that you asked and the answers that were given. At your next meeting with Widgets, Inc. you will provide them with the SEO plan that you created.

Question: Do you have a search optimization plan?
Answer: No, we created a website with our products on it 5 years ago. But we do not have an SEO plan.
Question: Do you know where you rank on different search engines for keywords that you are interested in?
Answer: No, I will google my company name once in a while, but we have never done an analysis on how we rank.
Question: What is the goal or purpose of your website?
Answer: We want people to know that we are a global leader in remote control model cars.
Question: Don't you want to sell your cars on the site?
Answer: Yes, we do sell our cars on the site, but 95% of our cars are sold my retail stores. So, it is more important to us that people believe that we are a leader in the market. So, when they walk into a store and see our products, they select them.
