The company grows seeded watermelons for $1.12 each and its seedless watermelons for $1.34 each. Alternatively, it can buy seeded watermelons and seedless watermelons from another source for $1.40 and $1.56, respectively. To mitigate the impact of a supply chain disruption the company policy is to not purchase more than 9,500 of any single kind of melon. How many seeded and seedless watermelons should WFI make and how many should it buy from its competitor in order to fulfill its contract in the least costly manner?

1) Formulate this problem as a LP. Make sure the variables are clearly defined. The complete formulas (and not just tables of numbers) should be written out. Submit a picture of the LP written out on a piece of paper.

2) Solve this problem using Solver (once you have the optimal solution you should open and take the quiz). Also, it is okay if the optimal solution says to make a fraction of a product at least for the quiz.
