Issue Identified: New AI algorithm is about to go live in the upcoming week but not everyone is onboard. Debate regarding if it'll hurt business or not and more workload on top of everything else to learn this new algorithm/software. The bank was founded on the basis of being mission-motivated in being able to supply underserved customers with a product that other banks were not able to supply to the respective customers. Having a clear mission within a company drives employee satisfaction and profitability (Craig, 2018). The bank has utilized human judgment in analyzing the individual circumstances of customers in order to make decisions on lending practices as opposed to simply following algorithms in order to maximize a profit. The organization has not been particularly clear as to if they will remain mission-focused by continuing to capture those customers underserved within the community or if they will transition to a more money-motivated entity in which they try to capture the largest quantity of consumers in the quickest way possible. This would result in a culture shift within the organization. Changes in culture to an organization require time and much communication in order to be well-received by employees (Walker & Soule, 2017). It remains unclear to both the top management as well as the lower level employees as to what the company culture and motivation will look like in the near future. It is difficult for employees to buy into changes such as this without clearly defined intentions and specific guidelines and instructions as to how the technology will shape the day to day company operations (Walker & Soule, 2017).
