1. What limitations can you recognize about the particular methodology used in this article?

2. Predict 4 outcomes about the research results

3. Highlight key terms

4. Identify the hypothesis the authors are studying in this article

5. Summarize the Method & Procedures in seven paragraphs. This should be true information explaining every step the researchers took to conduct the study.

6. Summarize the findings. Explain the findings that either support or fail to support each hypothesis.

7. Identify Assumptions/preconceived notions. Refer to the question (I wrote my own question " which substance alcohol or marijuana will affect college students more?") and the predictions made in number 2 above.

Were your predictions correct? Why or why not? What assumptions did you have going into the literature review? Were they correct? Why or why not?

8. Evaluate the research's quality. Does this study adequately assess the research question or questions of interest?

9. Formulate an overall opinion. Do you agree with the conclusions of the paper? What are the strengths and limitations of this study?

10. Design a follow-up study. Think about how you would choose to follow up this research. What would be the best next study to test this phenomenon? What methodological approach would you use?

11. Identify the Implications. Describe the implications the researchers indicate for this study. What future studies do you think would be beneficial and why? This should be a substantial entry. Several paragraphs should be written.

12. Describe findings. Describe at least one finding from the study that you find particularly interesting or surprising. How could this study be improved if there were no financial or practical limits imposed?

13. Extend the study. How would you extend this study into new ideas? What is still left unknown about this particular topic?

14. Generalize the sample. Describe how well you think the sample of participants in this study generalizes to other groups of people (i.e., age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, region, etc.).

15. you should write out a reflective statement. You should write a reflective statement about the iterative process and how you'll use it in the future. How were your ideas about the study challenged? How did you expand the range of potential solutions and outcomes?
