Design a series pass-transistor regulator as shown in Figure D2, which produces a constant regulated output voltage of 5V. The voltage from an unregulated power supply may vary from 8V to 12V. A slow sinusoidal waveform can be used to simulate the unregulated power supply. The required maximum load current is 500 mA.
