Ken is to provide a group learning presentation to new members of his team. The purpose is to provide them with the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a chainsaw with a concrete-cutting blade. Ken knows from experience that he needs to allow ample time to organize this type of presentation. The team is diverse and it is important for him to become aware of cultural differences. Ken contacts two of his most efficient operators Lisa and Naseem to help him. Ken wants to brief both of them about the training as Lisa is an expert operator but she has very little knowledge about cross-cultural setting; and Naseem is a recent migrant in Australia and he is not fully aware of Australian Work and Health safety laws.

On training day, Ken and his team will complete the following tasks: Confirm the standard operating procedures for the task. Know how to do a risk assessment. Review a portfolio of documents that includes learner notes and learner guides, operating procedures for the chainsaw, safety information, incident reports and emergency procedures.

Ken arranges to meet with Lisa and Naseem two days before the main training day to discuss the points and agenda.
