LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY #1 This assignment is intended to help you develop the ability to bounce back from failure and take risks in seeking learning opportunities. As discussed in class, these are both critical aspects of one's leadership journey. For this assignment called the "failing assignment" --you must choose to engage in some kind of activity in front of other people where the probability of success is minimal or simply nonexistent. The activity that you choose to engage in is completely up to your discretion, as long as the activity is legally, ethically, and morally appropriate. Choosing an activity will require considerable self-reflection and creativity on your part. Following the activity, you will write a reflection paper summarizing 1) the activity that you engaged in and the learning experience you hoped to achieve through the activity, 2) how you chose to cope with the lack of success that you experienced, and 3) lessons learned from the experience about leadership and learning to lead. Your paper will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Covering all of the necessary elements of the paper (see above) Your level of creativity in choosing which activity to engage in, and your explanation of how this activity was meant to be a learning experience Your depth of reflection on the activity Clarity of writing
