Local Eats is a new start-up company aiming to provide fast meal delivery to local communities. On Local Eats platform, restaurant owners can add, update their menus, people can sign up to become a delivery drive upon the approval by the company, and Local Eats admin staff can manage the restaurant owners and drivers accounts. Customers can easily browser the menu on Local Eats and order food online, then the system will notify the restaurant and nearby drivers of the orders. A driver can accept which order to deliver and get paid after completing the delivery. Customers will be charged on their nominated credit card or bank account when their orders are delivered.

 

In this assignment, students are required to develop a database to manage the required information and simple data entry forms for people to sign up as delivery drivers, and for restaurant owners to update their menus. The proposed Local Eats Database System should also maintain drivers' information by registering their name, address, email, and phone number, driver license, bank account, tax file number. The platform will record the details of each order, such as menu item, quantity, price, deliver time, address, note, restaurant information, menu, price, and other necessary information. You can refer to Uber Eats on the online order and delivery process. This whole process can be achieved by creating a database using WordPress and making use of supporting features like forms, queries, and reports. Note: Database System must be able to perform the following functions:

Add driver information

Manage orders

Update Menu

Manage driver application
