Looking at whether there should be one data privacy law for the entire world I think there should be a minimum standard. While one all encompassing law sounds like it would be a good idea it would be hard to enforce. However if there is a minimum standard that all companies should abide by and then each country can then build off the minimum standard that seems more realistic. Having one organization or entity in control seems like it could provide a monopoly for this organization to control the worlds data. Each country should have control over its own laws and the enforcement of them. Having a standard that the must comply to and then leaving it up to each country and separate organizations to maintain and enforce and build off seems like a better idea overall.
Do you agree or disagree with this opinion and whether there should be global data privacy legislation?
