CASE WRITING GUIDELINES

When preparing a written case report, assume a role of a managerial consultant who is advising the manager in charge on finding effective problem resolutions. Your job is to answer all questions posted in the case utilizing models corresponding to the appropriate techniques for solving such problems. The written report should be a professional managerial report. Break the text into appropriate sections$/$sub$-$sections with titles$/$sub$-$titles. Use Appendix and$/$or Exhibits for tables and computer output that support your case. Use one inch for all margins, and $10$ pts New Time Roman font single spaced.

Include page number in the margins. Case report should not exceed $5$ single spaced pages $($less is fine$).$ Below is the suggested structure:

Introduction $($identify company$/$industry$,$ problems$/$issues$/$questions to be answered$/$analyzed$,$ models$/$techniques to be applied$)$

Main body of the report: this is where all the relevant questions are to be covered. Break down into sections and sub$-$sections with titles$/$sub$-$titles if needed $($mostly for different questions asked in the case$).$

Conclusion and recommendations $($summary of your recommendations with a view of the future$)$

Appendix $($if needed$)$ is to include tables, graphs, computer software output and supporting materials that supplement the main paper body $($there is no page limit on these and they do not count towards $5-$page limit$).$ You must include enough support materials for a reader to be able to understand how you obtained all your findings. Everything in the Appendix must be labeled and properly referred to in the main body of the report $($don$\text{'}$t just put something in the Appendix if you never mentioned that information in the report$).$

The judgment of your case study will be based on:

$(40\%)$ Correctly applying appropriate model

$(40\%)$ Correctly drawing conclusions from the model

$(20\%)$ Comprehensiveness of your answers and cohesiveness of the report
