Margo is a 4^th grade student at her local elementary school. Margo lives at home with her mom, dad and 2 siblings. Margo is on an IEP because she struggles with reading, which also affects her writing. Standardized tests show she is reading at a low 2^ndgrade level. At P/T conferences and her IEP meeting, her teacher has told her parents that she has a great work ethic and tries her best on her assignments, even if it takes her a long time. Her parents say they read to her and her siblings every night and practice sight words as much as they can with her at home. Currently, Margo is utilizing the resource model of instruction for reading and receives 30 minutes of pullout services a week for writing. She is labeled as having a learning disability in reading. Margo's parents are wondering if she should have CWC instruction for reading instead of the current placement.
