This Task can be written using 1st person and does not need to be referenced but it does need to be written in cohesive paragraphs and sentences. You do not need to use a reflective model. Just address the questions below Reflect on your assessment technique and the data that you have collected. 1. Describe what you did well and why? You may want to consider the following points
my introduction went well, creating a therapeutic relationship with the client by asking them and making comments about them playing sports the reason i was confident in creating a theraptutic relationship as thats something i try to imply into my everyday life and in the field i work in. Another thing that went was asking consent, as i though of my self in their shoe and that if i was the patient how i would want to be treated and the consent i would want given
Did you follow a systematic process?
i was active listening, began with a thorough assessment of the patient's condition, gathering both subjective and objective data Was the data you gathered comprehensive? Was your approach natural and comfortable?
i believe my approach was natural and comfortable, i tried to create small talks whilst doing the assessment so that the patient can be more comfortable and not feel as nervous especially me being a student nurse
2. Reflect on one of the areas of the assessment that was a challenge
The OLDCARTS was a challenge for me because i struggled forming questions off the top of my head that will include and cover all the questions and cover all the required information to form a valid assessment, another area was stuttering, when i become nervous or my brain just shuts off i start to stutter or will just have an area of silence
