Mazni is the new product and technology manager of HRD Berhad. In her new position, she oversaw 39 people working on multiple projects. One of the projects was worth millions of Ringgitto the company if successful, and it involved the participation of several suppliers and technology partners. Even though she knew she was completely accountable for all elements of the project ,she had to make tough decisions about where to spend her time. Four weeks later, all suppliers were sourced and onboard. One of Mazni’s most loyal and trust edsuppliers, who had lost a bid to work on this project, told her that the supplier who had won the bid might have broken her company’s gift policies. Mazni investigated the report further and discovered that the winning supplier had indeed violated the company’s gift policies. Additionally ,she found that both Suhani and Tong had indeed accepted gifts from the winning suppliers prior to the bidding process. Upon further investigation, Mazni found that both Suhani and Tong have not been briefed about the company’s gift policies as no induction training was provided to them. However, HRD Berhad had a stellar reputation for integrity in business practices. As such, so strong action ought to be taken. Mazni is also aware that any disruptions in the project would be extremely difficult to manage. It could result in failure to meet its objectives, costing the company millions of Ringgit.
