Objective: The objective of this midterm assignment is to assess your understanding of project planning, its key components, and your ability to apply project management concepts in a real$-$world scenario. You will be required to develop a project scope planning and the work breakdown structure development for a business project.

Project Overview:

Your team is in charge of conducting a feasibility study and implementation plan for an Entrepreneurship Center targeting college students. The project aims to assess the feasibility and plan the implementation of an Entrepreneurship Center dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial skills among college students. This center will provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities for students to develop and launch their own business ideas.

Your assignment:

Your team has been asked to complete the following two components:

The project scope planning

The project breakdown structure

Part $1$: Project Scope Planning $-$ In order to complete the scope planning, your team should define the following aspects:

Project description: A high$-$level overview of the project's nature and extent, characteristics, main objectives, and essential qualities. Think of it as the vision of the final outcome of the project.

Project objectives: Describe the high$-$level goals of the including measurable success criteria $($Smart objectives$)$

Project deliverables:List all project deliverables and briefly describe each including outputs and ancillary $($supporting$)$ results such reports, documentation, evaluations, etc. Do not list dates.

Project tasks: List the most important project tasks to be completed, based on the deliverables listed in the previous section. Do not include dates.

Project boundaries: Describe the extent of project work expectations and list deliverables, tasks or outcomes that are not included in the project

Project assumptions: List any project factors that are considered true, real, or certain and are critical for the project's success

Project constraints: List the general limitations that should be considered during the project life cycle, such as time, cost, scope, quality, risks, and resources.

Project stakeholders: List the key stakeholders in the project, describing their roles and how they can influence the project life cycle.

Part $2$: Work Breakdown Structure $($WBS$)-$ The work breakdown structure $($WBS$)$ should include: a$)$ Project Milestones $($Key events or points marking significant achievements or phases in the project timeline$).$ b$)$ Project Deliverables $($The final outputs or products produced by the project tasks$)$; c$)$ Project Tasks $($The specific units of work required to produce the deliverables$)$ and; d$)$ Project Sub$-$tasks $($Smaller components of tasks that break down the work into more detailed and manageable pieces$)$

Project Milestones $-$ Identify and describe the most significant points or events in the project timeline that mark important achievements or the completion of major phases. Your project milestones should be used to track progress and ensure the project is on schedule.

Project Deliverables $-$ Describe the most important tangible or intangible outputs produced as a result of completing project tasks. They should represent the outcomes that the project aims to achieve.

Project Tasks $-$ Identify and describe the tasks in specific units of work $($hours$/$work$,$ for example$)$ that must be completed to achieve the project milestones and produce the deliverables. They should be defined as the actionable steps within the project.

Project Sub$-$tasks $-$ For the most important tasks, identify sub$-$tasks $($smaller$,$ more detailed components of a project task$).$ The sub$-$tasks in your project should break down tasks into more manageable pieces to facilitate easier assignment and tracking.

Presentation

Prepare a $5$ minutes presentation summarizing key elements of the project scope plan and work breakdown structure.

Clearly articulate how the proposed scope and WBS align with the goal of the venture $($implementing an entrepreneurship center$)$

Submission Details:

Submit a comprehensive report that includes the project scope plan and work breakdown structure.

Include visual representations of the WBS$,$ such as diagrams or charts.

Provide a brief rationale for key decisions made in the scope planning and WBS development.

Grading Criteria: Your assignment will be graded based on the following criteria:

Project planning $($Scope and WBS$)$ document, $10$ points

Oral presentation, $10$ points
