Module 5 Lean Matrix Organizations that practice

Module 5 Lean Matrix Organizations that practice Lean often seek to assess the level of Lean "Implementation" in an objective fashion. Consultants, Quality Managers, Continual Improvement Managers, General Managers, etc., like to have an objective tool to assess the degree of Lean Implementation. While I am not completely convinced this is the best way to assess Lean, it is common. For this assignment, develop a Lean Assessment Tool (Lean Audit) that can be used to assess the degree of Lean Techniques implemented within an organization. Assume you are either a consultant or a Manager and are asked to determine the extend of Lean within the organization. The Lean Assessment should be three columns: (1) one column for each specific lean tool/practice we've covered in the text up to, and including, chapter 6 (I realize chapter 6 is in next module, thus the due date of the assignment reflects this). You do not have to incorporate chapters 7-9. (2) a brief description of that tool, and (3) a statement about what to look for as objective evidence to show that practice is in place. When this is complete, it will serve as an outline of the main concepts used in Lean Please let me know if you have any questions. Do not merely search the internet and download an existing assessment. Grade Criteria 35% - Identification of the main elements of Lean (Col 1) 20% - Description of the tool/practice (Col 2) 10% - Format - Organized, concise table 35% - Statement of objective evidence for each tool/practice (Col 3) Spelling and significant grammatical errors will diminish the score
