They produce plastic bottles of types; sizes and shares for a variety of manufacturing companies in Jamaica. The company was started by John Peet and when he died three years ago the company was transferred to his eldest son Paul Peet. He assumed the position of Chief executive officer. Paul Peet is in his mid-forties and has his ideas about how the company should be managed. The company has offices and manufacturing plants in four parishes in Jamaica and has a staff complement of approximately 340 employees. Most of the production employees have been onboard since the father managed the company and were in-fact interviewed and trained by the elder Mr. Peet. Now that Paul Peet has come on board with a different vision for the team, there has been some level of dissatisfaction among the staff especially the older folks as they feel the new policies are not in their favour and that he is trying to frustrate them to leave. Paul Peet feels that there has not been a lot of focus over the years on career management and so he wants to place emphasis on that. He also wants to create a great focus on learning in the organization, as he feels that with competition in the market the only way that the company can remain competitive is by having a cadre of well trained staff. He is also of the view that some of the older employees should be made redundant as he intends to upgrade some of the current equipment and they would need to have their skills updated.
