External forces on an organization are important to understand because they impact organizations internal and external opportunities.$$ The external environment includes politics, the economy, cultural influences, technology, ecological impacts, and legal obligations $($Rothaermel$).$ All of these areas of the external environment are changing forces and keeping informed about things like the economy or labor force changes like the Boeing strike in my area.$$ Also economic changes such as interest rate changes can help companies be nimble and ready to change business strategies according to the current forces.$$The Nov election is something many companies will consider when looking into next year because political changes may impact many organizations.
