Need perfect answer:
Project background
The project consisted of an IT/systems transition: hardware, telecom, network, corporate applications, specialist/in-house applicationseverything. With a very small number of exceptions, virtually everything was migrating to the systems of at Harris. ICARE used O365 for email, calendar, OneDrive, and SharePoint - but were still using antiquated land lines for phones. Both ICARE and HOPEFIND want to use Team for their inbound and outbound calls instead. Their workstations OS range from Windows 7, 8, 10 (1903) and 21H1. They have an -in-house server room but are looking to possible migrate to the cloud (AWS, Expedient or Azure) depending on the complexity and reasons to do so versus just moving the rack someone. They want recommendations about why either approach is better or advantages/ disadvantages. The servers have MySQL data and Power BI logs, alongside other files, backups, and many other items no one is sure what they are for, or who "owns" them.
At the same time, there was a business integration taking place for virtually all business areas sales, marketing, operations, finance, HR, etc. that had IT needs that had to coincide with their key integration/migration activities. The overall integration initiative had a leader from each of the two organizations, but neither of those leaders were experienced project managers or coordinators they were business leaders. Each department then had a leader for their functional project, usually the department business leader from the acquiring company.
There was no overall deadline for completion of the entire project in the eyes of the acquired business, but certain business areas had deadlines for completion and HOPEFIND wanted to integrate the company within 7 months. It was Now October 1st. In some cases, the business leaders had soft deadlines where they wanted to complete the work for a natural changeover date of Jan. 1. There is not any congruity within the acquired business and although the management is all onboard, there is some pushback and fear among a few of the staff; the people have a lot of influence in the business as they have been there for years.
