For your final assignment, prepare a 10-minute presentation that assesses the effectiveness of an organization and outline a proposed plan for influencing changes. Choose an organization with which you are familiar. If this is not possible, then select an organization that you would consider belonging to in the future.
The presentation should include an in-depth analysis of the organization against the primary topics covered throughout this course. Include recommendations of how the organization could implement ideas presented in this course to become effective and productive.
Your presentation should be formatted as if you were presenting to a senior leader in your chosen organization.
In the introduction of your presentation, clearly identify the organization that you are analyzing, as well as any teams and/or groups that are part of the organization (though you must change the names of any specific individuals in the context of your presentation). Your analysis must integrate at least four (4) of the six (6) following areas and then you must conclude with your recommendations for impacting the behaviors of the organization to increase its effectiveness:
- Diversity Factors: Describe how individuals are integrated into the organization you have selected and the relevant background factors for each member of the group.
- Communication: Analyze the communication systems and processes currently in place in the organization. Provide examples of where communication could be improved.
- Decision Making: Discuss the process through which important decisions are made in the organization. Show where conflict can be a positive or negative component in these decisions.
- Conflict Management: Evaluate how the organization (or a group/team) manages conflict and how the consequences of unresolved conflict can damage group activities. Provide a recommendation for how resolution based on a biblical worldview and perspective could benefit unresolved conflict in group dynamics for this organization.
- Leadership: Discuss how the various leadership concepts from the text and class are/were used or not used in the organization, especially regarding performance management and team motivation. Integrate how biblical truth and a Christian worldview impact the leadership in the group or organization.
- Organizational Culture and Change: Evaluate the health of the organization through the lens of the culture and how well the organization manages change.
Recommendations: Provide two or three recommendations for how to promote positive change within the organization that will make the individuals and teams stronger as well as improve overall organizational health and effectiveness.
