The fourth amendment is "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized" (Smith, 2008, p. 9). This basically means the police can search your house or you without a probable cause or a warrant. The fourth amendment is what everyone calls the "privacy" amendment. I believe this amendment is the most violated because officers will pull people over for traffic violations and search vehicles will no probable cause. People also believe the government "watches" them through their technology (e.g. phones, computers, tablets, etc.). It is believed that, sometimes, officers and government officials "stalk" people through their social media. Other ways the fourth amendment is violated include searching people's bags at airports without a warrant or probable cause, or, in Samar Kaukab's case, being strip searched only because she is muslim and wore a hijab (Bohm & Haley, 2021, p.110). This is only a few ways that I believe the government violates the fourth amendment. Donald Trump pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio after Arpaio arrested someone
