Question:
A manufacturer of earphone cases uses the injection molding process to produce its goods. The time an earphone case is allowed to cool in the mold before removal is thought to influence the occurrence of a particularly troublesome cosmetic defect, flow lines, in the finished case. After manufacturing, the cases are inspected visually and assigned a score between 1 and 10 based on their appearance, with 10 corresponding to a perfect part and 1 corresponding to a completely defective part. An experiment was conducted using five cool-down times: 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 seconds. The manufacturer uses six machines and to reduce experiment time, cases were evaluated from all machines. Although product quality might be affected by the machines, machine variability is not of interest in this experiment. Observations were run randomly per machine. The data are as follows:
1. Complete the ANOVA Table
2. Set up the appropriate hypotheses for this experiment:
3. Provide diagrams to assist in interpreting the results from this experiment.
4. Check the assumption of normality for the data from this experiment. show the graphs corresponding to residual analysis. what is your analysis
