Our book describes acculturation without integration as "Americanization without equality". This is similar to what I earlier mentioned is a set back to this view of assimilation. This is when immigrants and minorities are expected to adapt to the new culture that they are introduced to without focusing on any of their own culture. This becomes even more of a problem when these minorities are at a disadvantage and missing out on opportunities such as jobs
