Culture has always played a part in a workforce and a global workforce requires HR support to understand cultural differences. There is a need to balance organizations' culture and the culture of the host country. The strategy HR takes to support the workforce is tied to the mission, vision, and value and Managers must support this on the ground. The reading gave a great example of how supervisors in Japan are expected to have precise answers when answering employee questions. Think about a culture where the direct supervisor is that accountable. This requires a high priority need for HR to create strong policies and training that shape a culture.
