passage below require analysis and breakdown
The disciplines within a typical supply chain are procurement, operations, logistics, planning, and quality. Supply chain management starts begins with the procurement and will move along a decided trajectory consisting of the other disciplines until the product is in the hand of the consumer. The production, quality control, shipping/ distribution, and overall planning have their respective roles in achieving the end goal. Provided that I am currently not working I do not have a current example but in a previous position (years ago) I worked in a warehouse for Target. The warehouse was one of the last stages of the supply chain but still important. Most products were procured and developed in other plants then shipped to the Target Warehouse. Once arrived, extensive planning as to where and when products would be moved to store fronts would occur. Once orders were made, the logistical aspect of shipping products across the region would occur. At the end of the process the product would be placed on store shelves for the consumer to purchase and consume.
