Passage require analysis and breakdown

I feel like in the healthcare industry this is a harder question to answer. I believe that the way the hospitals could organize the supplies that they distribute to the floors could be a place where they would be able to optimize the distribution and usage of equipment. I guess the best explanation I have for this is the usage of medical equipment to complete tasks at hand. The hospitals bring in shipments of supplies which are distributed to the floors, so the nurses are able to carry out the tasks that the patients need to optimize their care and hopefully get the patient discharged. This will then free up space for the next patient who bring the hospital more money. in a hospital I believe that there are areas that must have more focus due to the severity of the care that is taking place. Not only do these areas bring more money to the hospitals, but they also ensure patient safety and care. Even though the workflow should be simple and that all areas receive a full stocked storeroom, I believe that the shortest route problems do not work in the healthcare field. I would argue that the critical path method takes precedence over it.

Thompson goes into the importance of critical path method and explains that in order to get the whole project at hand completed (get the patient discharged), there are critical phases in the process that needs to take precedence over others to optimize the project. Thompson states that the critical pathway It pinpoints attention to the small subset of jobs that are critical to project completion time, thus contributing to more accurate planning and more precise control. It leads to reasonable estimates of total project costs for various completion dates, which enable the manager to select an optimum schedule (Thompson, 2019). This could be translated into the healthcare field in that more resources and time needs to be allocated to the critical care floors to be able to properly stabilize the patient. If this phase of the project has more focus and more resourced, we then would be able to move them to the later phases of the recovery process. This could bring more success in the recovery of a patient, lessening the days of hospitalization, allowing for the next patient to have a space to stay.

In the hospital, the shortest rout problem is that from admission to discharge, the goal is to get the patient in and out while providing excellent care. However, I do believe that there are phases whit in the care that must take precedence over others, allocating more resources to these areas to hopefully shorten the length of hospitalization. This is a tough model to truly use in patient care and I am having trouble finding a way to apply this concept.
