First peer:

There are many misconceptions as to why the Human Resource department is perceived so negatively. This often causes issues and breeds resentment for HR personnel. The false accusations just make it harder for HR to do their job. For example, people use HR in order avoid effectively communicating with their colleagues. But see, that is not their job. HR will be present for difficult conversations, but they will not participate in them, they will just mediate and intervene if things become hostile. HR professionals are there to guide employees and managers towards establishing a more cohesive relationship. Second, HR does not make the decisions that go into office changes or firing someone. They conduct their research and provide their recommendations to the organization's leadership; the leaders are the ones who make the decisions.

Active Voice:

Comparison:

I would say that the active (present) voice works better than the past tense voice because it aligns with the rhytmn/flow of the paper. The paper is already written in an active voice/tone so it was hard to find a good example within my writing of a passive voice. The sole reason why I write in an active voice is because it shows the productivity within the writing, it emphasizes the actions being taken.

Second peer:

Social media should be seen as an attack platform for sewing confusion and distrust among the populace of an adversary nation. According to Schulze (2020), advanced algorithmic targeting systems employ sophisticated algorithm and data analysis techniques to efficiently identify and prioritize specific targets, applying that targeted intensity to a marketing, military, or cybersecurity problem. Integrating sophisticated psychological operations, algorithmic targeting with comprehensive data on social dynamics, and rapid information dissemination capabilities enables military strategists to conduct advanced algorithmic targeting (Arguedas et al., 2022). Such operations aim to confound, heighten the tension between social elements, and undercut the public's confidence in governmental and institutional activity.

1. Converting to active voice

"Military strategies integrate sophisticated psychological operations, algorithmic targeting with comprehensive data on social dynamics, and rapid information dissemination capabilities enables military strategists to conduct advanced algorithmic targeting (Arguedas et al., 2022)."

2. Which version is more effective?

I believe the active voice is more effective in this context because it clearly identifies the subject and their roles in the action. The clarity enhances the understanding for readers because it illustrates who is responsible for the advanced algorithmic targeting.
